In addition to these I have put on multiple events at Green Mountain including the homecoming parade, leadership conference, and trick or treat street

After high school plans?

After high school I will be heading down to Austin, Texas, to study political science at St. Edwards University. My hope is that by going to school in another state I will be able to expand my knowledge about the education system.

What profession or career do you want to pursue? Why?

I would like to go into public policy more specifically public policy focusing around school and education as a whole. Education has been my driving force behind my every task at Green Mountain. Growing up I went to a lower income school where I saw kids struggling every single day. Teachers and staff were not given the tools or resources to help these kids. My teachers have also been very honest with me about the education system and how it takes a toll. Walking into a classroom you can see how hard staff members are working to keep kids going. I want to be able to bridge the gap between politics and the educational world. To create a further understanding as to why education needs more funding and the value behind not only teachers but also librarians, administration, and all other staff.

What do you hope to accomplish in life?

I hope to bridge the gap between politics and education. Every person on this planet is directly affected by what's going on in schools. The children who sit in those classrooms will someday be standing where you are and making decisions that could alter how we think and what we believe.

If I could do anything, it would be to...

If I could do anything, it would be to help the kids who struggle in school. Give assistance and support to the kids whose parents aren't there, who can't afford to go on school trips. If people could see that every child will rise to the expectations that you put on them then maybe instead of having kids drop out of school, we'd see kids excel and be proud of themselves.
