The 26th annual Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive took place on May 12.

The food drive is a nationwide event, with the local efforts benefiting the Golden-based Christian Action Guild, which is a volunteer-run nonprofit organization.

“Our food pantry went from nearly empty shelves to absolutely full shelves with lots of extra food in boxes behind the shelves,” said Mandy Liao who co-organized this year’s event with Kay Furtak. “We can’t thank enough the Golden volunteers who spent their free time helping to sort and shelve the food, and the community members of Golden who so generously donated food. It was truly a community effort.”
