The annual run is a fundraiser for the Golden Schools Foundation, which provides educational funding for seven local schools. Last year's event raised $40,000 for the schools.
The Sept. 16 event offered 5k and 10k courses, a children's fun run and a virtual/sleep-in option. As a new feature this year, well-behaved dogs were allowed to join in the fun.
All runners started and ended at Golden High School, where Riley the horse was spurring them on.
