The board heard an update from the Choice Steering Committee regarding the final recommendations for the district’s Choice Enrollment program.

The 32-member committee spent the last school year devising eight recommendations surrounding the district’s choice enrollment program, to help implement and encourage choice in a logical and efficient way.

During this meeting, the committee covered the final four of its recommendations to the board. The implementation of an online enrollment system; enhancing district’s systems and structures to monitor and share the efficacy of the program and its outcomes; better communication surrounding transportation and enforcement and transparency surrounding the choice policies, ensuring choice students stay at their chosen school.

The board thanked the committee for its work over the past year and asked to continue the conversation to ensure these and further recommendations may be explored properly.
