The Golden Lions Club knows how to through a Fourth of July party.

Thousands of people went to Lions Park in Golden on July 4 for the annual event.

People played volleyball, threw Frisbees or footballs and children enjoyed free bounce houses.

Live music entertained the crowd for the entire event — The Johnny O. Band performed blues, Ryan Chrys & the Rough Cuts provided some modern outlaw country and Something Underground kept everybody rockin’ until the fireworks display began.

It was a community gathering at its finest. After all, everybody was there to celebrate the same thing, said Something Underground’s guitar and vocalist Seth Larson, which was Independence Day.
