Lunchtime looked a little different in Golden on June 4 as diners ate not only on restaurant patios but also at tables that have been set up in new dining areas that have been set up in the parking lanes of several Golden streets, including Washington Avenue.
But new dining areas aside, it also felt like something of a return to normalcy as residents could eat on the premises once again after over two months of restaurants only being open for take-out. Residents seemed to be taking to the new arrangement as the streets were busier than they had been in weeks and parking areas were also notably full. There was also a new addition to the scene as a street taco stand has popped outside the Ace-Hi Tavern (bars now need to serve food in order to open).
The new look will continue for the foreseeable future with main blocks of Washington Avenue reduced to one lane during the week and closed completely on weekends.
