Golden Family Easter

Come out to Parfet Park with your little ones and help find all the colorful eggs the Easter Bunny hid this year.

Schools Foundation seeks board member

The Golden Schools Foundation (GSF) has put out the call for a new board chairperson.

The Foundation describes the potential board chair as “a dynamic and visionary individual to lead the foundation in its next phase of growth, impact, and achievement for Golden’s neighborhood elementary, middle, and high schools.”

The chairperson will have priorities including board engagement, oversight of GSF initiatives and programs, and fundraising.

Candidates are asked to have public, nonprofit or business leadership experience; ability to work directly with education, government, business, media and key donors; fundraising abilities; and be able to interact and work well with the rest of the GSF board.

Those interested can send a resume and letter of interest to Suzane Morrisette (suzannemorrisett@hotmail.com) or Jessica Henley (jessica@gaiacreative.com)

LWV

This month the Jefferson County League of Women Voters will meet to discuss Jeffco school budget priorities. Based on interviews with school principals and administrators, the League has put together a realistic, but hypothetical budget for one school. After discussions around the interviews, the cuts, and the unique needs of a hypothetical school, we will talk priorities and limitations and try our hand at solving the problems.

A meeting is scheduled in Golden on April 9 at 9:15 a.m. at Highland Rescue Team Ambulance Service, 317 S. Lookout Mountain, Golden 80401. All meetings are open to the public. Call Ellen at 303-526-7446 for more information about this meeting.
