The Golden Police Department’s 14th annual Awards Banquet took place Jan. 25 at the Golden Community Center.
Opening the banquet was a moving remembrance to the late Bob Wilson’s 40 years of service to the Golden Police Department.

Wilson, a K9 officer, was highly respected in the law enforcement field, said Golden Police Chief Bill Kilpatrick.
“He was extremely committed to the citizens of Golden,” Kilpatrick said, adding he attended “virtually every community event.”
A Meritorious Service Medal was presented to his wife, Lynn.
More than 200 people attended the ceremony during which 90 awards were given out. The Employee of the Year was awarded to Sgt. Chad St. Aubin, and Golden City Manager Jason Slowinski awarded Kilpatrick with the 2016 Leadership Excellence Award.
