Golden votes not to allow teen voters

Ballot question largely rejected by city's voters

Golden’s ballot question 2E, which proposes to allow 16-and-17-year-old residents to vote in municipal elections is failing with 65.05 percent voting against the idea, as of 8 p.m. on Election Night.
If the measure had passed, the city's 16-year-olds could have voted for city council candidates as early as the 2019 election.
The measure had enjoyed the support of the Golden City Council, which placed the item on the ballot.
