LAKEWOOD — The 44th annual Jeffco Public Schools Marching Festival took place Sept. 21 at Jeffco Stadium.

Fifteen marching bands from across Jeffco competed to kickoff the competition season for most of the bands. Conifer (Class 2A), D’Evelyn (Class 3A), Dakota Ridge (Class 4A) and Chatfield (Class 5A) were awarded first place in their classifications.

The marching band season will last through early November this year with the season ending with the Colorado Band Masters Associations state championships. The Class 5A/4A state championships are set for Oct. 29 and 30 at Falcon Stadium at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. The Class 3A/2A/1A state championships are scheduled for Nov. 1 at Colorado State University-Pueblo.
