Have you seen that green, wood, and cement monstrosity “growing” up against the sky on South Golden Road? It features up to 100 more apartments, which in turn will provide another 100 cars jamming Golden’s streets, intersections and main roads.

What is it about the members of Golden’s City Council that they want to cram as many people and cars as possible into our limited little city? How much more toxic air do they want us to breathe? Do you realize that every breath you take 24/7 is poison/particulate-laden air? How much more water can they force us to use until we don’t have any water at our taps? How much more gridlock are they working to provide for us on our streets or on I-70 on weekends as to camping and skiing? Have you tried to go skiing on Saturday mornings? It’s a nightmare of gridlock on I-70 and a bumper-car fiasco on the slopes with too many people. Here’s what we face:

“Unlimited population growth cannot be sustained; you cannot sustain growth in the rates of consumption of resources. No species can overrun the carrying capacity of a finite land mass. This Law cannot be repealed and is not negotiable,” according to Dr. Albert Bartlett at the University of Colorado.

Where is the mayor and council leading our city? Answer: to a collapse of water, energy and resources! We need a “Golden Stop Growth Policy…Golden Quality of Life Policy…Golden Stabilized Population Policy.”
