Letter to the Editor: An optimistic Golden thank you

The Golden Optimists thank all of the people who supported our annual fundraising Christmas Tree sale.  We successfully sold out of trees in a little over two weeks. We had the fantastic help of Boy Scout Troop 329 and many of their parents. We enjoy working with them and it is a great opportunity for scouts to meet people in the community. We also appreciate the help of Girl Scout Troop 309 that decorated the wreaths. They were beautiful and sold quickly. Thank you also to U.S. Bank, who let us set up in a portion of their parking lot.

Our proceeds will help the scouts as well as our other community projects such as the annual GHS oratory contest, school supplies for local schools, and the bicycle recycle program. [[tab]] We hope you enjoy your natural tree.  You can recycle it into mulch at Golden’s tree drop from December 26 through January 24 at the former Golden Recycle site, just west of Highway 93 and north of Golden Gate Canyon Road.

Suzy Stutzman,
Golden Optimists
