Thank you, thank you, to the Jefferson Symphony Orchestra for a wonderful 69th season premiere concert last weekend! I am grateful to Dr. William Morse, music director and conductor, the many volunteers, and, of course, the talented and dedicated musicians who brought this in-person musical event to Golden and the greater Jefferson County community. It was good to be back at our home in the CSM Green Center, and to be surrounded by live music again in a very safe and comfortable environment. The amazing accordion-bayan soloist, Stas Venglevski, provided an unexpected opportunity to see and hear this instrument in a classical setting, and the familiar Dvorak New World Symphony reminded us of why astronauts chose this exciting music to go with them into space. Throughout the concert, the orchestra rewarded us with precision and warm musical expression. We are so appreciative of the work of the many artists and other volunteers who provide such high quality musical experiences for our community, especially now in this time of continued danger, uncertainty and stress—a very needed and welcome relief for the soul.
Esther and Don Macalady,
