Letter to the editor: Great pancakes but bad campaign

Posted

This past Saturday was another wonderful Golden Fire Department pancake breakfast punctuated by seeing old friends, fine food and great weather along with a few pesky flies and unfortunately one annoying local politician.

While waiting for my daughters and grandchildren to join me, I was approached by a fellow who did not introduce himself but thrust a flyer at me regarding his upcoming run for local elected office. He asked if I would mind if he asked a few questions. I agreed. He proceeded to inquire about my feelings about what was not going right in Golden. I told him honestly where upon he chose to argue every point with me. Annoyed, I excused myself and rejected his flyer.

A good politician and possible future leader should:

Not interfere and spoil such a great community event by trying to campaign.

Listen without argument.

I wasn’t sure who I was going to vote for this fall for mayor … but I now know who I am not.

Frank Young,
Golden
