A Golden woman was found dead on the Argos Trail on Sept. 2, about three days after she was reported missing by her family.
Kap Soon Lee, 76, was found at around 6:55 p.m. by someone recreating on the trail, which is located west of the old Heritage Square site in Apex Park.
Golden Police were notified on Aug. 31 that Lee had left her home at around 1 p.m. that day and had not been seen since that time. Lee lived in the Eagle Ridge neighborhood off Heritage Road.
According to a post made to the city of Golden Facebook page on Sept. 1, Lee was known by her family to frequently walk on the trails around her neighborhood an in Apex Park.
Following Lee’s disappearance, police used canines and drones to search for Lee and conducted a full sweep of the Apex trail.
According to the Facebook post, Lee took medication for high blood pressure.
Golden’s Communications Manager, Emily Gedeon, said the police investigation is active and ongoing but foul play is not currently expected in Lee’s death.
