What caused the RTD train derailment in Golden March 11 is still under investigation, officials said March 13.

For now, shuttles are running in both directions between Red Rocks Community College and Golden to replace W Line train service. Shuttles will run about every 30 minutes during operating hours, RTD spokesperson Tina Jaquez stated.

Around 9:30 a.m. March 11, a W Line train derailed outside the Jeffco Government Center. Four passengers were aboard along with the operator, and two passengers reported minor injuries and were transported to the hospital.

For now, W Line trains are operating as scheduled between Red Rocks College and Denver Union stations. Jaquez said there's no timeframe on train service to Golden will resume, saying it'll be after the investigation concludes and repairs are finished.

Jaquez said RTD crews were able to re-rail the train over the weekend and move it back to an RTD facility. The agency's fully assessing the train’s damage to have a better idea of all needed repairs. Additionally, as of March 13, repairs to overhead powerlines outside the Golden station were ongoing.

Jaquez recommended RTD passengers who use the W Line to/from Golden sign up for service alerts at rtd-denver.com. These alerts will notify them of any changes in service, including when regular train service resumes.
