Whether you’re looking for a fun place to take the kids this weekend, or a chance to meet up with friends and enjoy live music, or want to see some interesting chalk art, or see some impressive classic cars, or shop for some delicious homemade goods, or make a craft, or sample a local brew, or ... you get the idea. Odds are that there’s something for just about anyone to enjoy at this year’s RidgeFest.
The annual celebration of Wheat Ridge and it’s many charms is Sept. 7, from 3-9 p.m. at the Ridge at 38 location, 7101 W. 38th Avenue, in and around the grassy area in front of Stevens Elementary School.
RidgeFest is organized by The Ridge at 38 commercial district and Localworks, a community and economic development nonprofit supporting the Wheat Ridge area. The event is free.
Ashley Holland with Localworks said even longtime RidgeFest attendees will have some new items to enjoy this year, including an all-new lineup of bluegrass music acts.
“For years we’ve had a kids craft area, which is back this year. But this year we added adult crafts,” Holland said.
The adults crafts are being sponsored by Al’s Pine Garden and Localworks’ Live. The $5 tickets for the two crafts would be available at the beer and wine ticket booth.
Other events include bluegrass bands, the classic car show, chalk art, a local beer and wine tent (now with pub games), free face painting and henna, a poetry reading by Wheat Ridge’s poet laureate and more.
