This Saturday, Arvada on Tap is back for its fifth year, inviting event-goers to sample beers from 35 different breweries. The event will be held at Ralston Park Addition on Simms Street and 64th Avenue, in the park next to Arvada Wets High School. General admission opens at 2 p.m. on June 22.
Event chair Jennifer Kemps said the event is expected to attract thousands after nearly 2,000 attended last year’s event.
“Each brewery brings about two different types of beer,” she said. “There are plenty of community vendors, and you’re not ever waiting in line for too long.”
For the first time, the Arvada Festivals Commission will open up the event’s barbeque competition to amateur chefs in the area, allowing event attendees to sample competitors’ dishes.
Tickets cost $40 for adults and $10 for children and can be purchased at the event site.
Kemps added that those who have not yet purchased a ticket, as well as those who purchased pre-sale tickets, can show up to the event at 1 p.m. on Saturday to upgrade to VIP tickets. The $15 upgrade awards visitors an extra hour at the event, access to an additional parking lot and an event t-shirt and water bottle.
Kemps urged everyone in the area to swing by and get to know the members of their community.
“We’ll have some live music and some ‘90s cover bands, and we have a great kids’ zone,” she said. “It’s really a family friendly event.”
